Description: Frankincense Essential Oil originates as a milky-white liquid that flows from tree bark when cut, and then allowed to dry into a resin for several days. The tree is a hardy indigenous to the Middle East, it has a very small scraggly look. The dried resin is collected, and then distilled, producing the precious pure essential oil. Frankincense resin has been traded for over 5,000 years and is also known as olibanum from the Arabic word al-luban or 'that which results from milking', because of the milky sap flowing from the tree bark. Boswellia serrate has a warm and spicy, woody scent that is strong.
